CT/MRT-controlled injections

In both acute and chronic disc prolapses anti-inflammatory drugs are injected into the immediate vicinity of the herniated disc and the inflammatory process. The inflammation subsides and the swelling is reduced.

Therefore, today a disc prolapse rarely requires classical surgery anymore in order to be successfully treated and pain-free. However, since the risk of adhesions and the associated often prolonged severe discomfort is quite high after surgery, surgical intervention should only be considered in cases of paralysis.
